David Lloyd Health Clubs is Europe’s leading health, sport and leisure group, with 123 clubs across the UK & Europe. 

Their new app was to become a holistic wellbeing space that encourages members to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Our aim was to build a library of on-demand wellbeing plans, designed to help David Lloyd members achieve their health and fitness goals

Project Solution

After establishing what was important, we developed plan philosophies and training schedules tailored to members’ fitness and wellness goals, be that improved flexibility, strength, mind-body connection, or encouraging beginners to get active. The plans prescribe several activities based on answers given at the point of onboarding the user. To ensure the app offered a more holistic proposition, we used visual, audio and copy content throughout. 

Working with Sports Psychologists, Nutritionists and expert presenters, we designed and produced 100s of new sessions, tailored to each plan’s objective. Members can access blogs, meditations, workouts, recipes and nutritional advice to help them stay healthy and on track to reach their goals. We worked with the UX and design teams to support development and to bring these plans and David Lloyd’s digital experience to life. 

By offering plans that were designed to be completed on the gym floor, our aim was to increase visitation to the clubs and drive the retention of David Lloyd members.
